Trump Reveals Netanyahu Requested White House Meeting, Says 'He Knows Who's Boss'

US President Donald Trump disclosed in a Saturday interview with Channel 12 News that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested a meeting at the White House, which could take place soon. Trump described his relationship with Netanyahu as excellent, stating, "You know who's boss. He knows who's boss," referring to himself. The Prime Minister's Office confirmed that Netanyahu spoke with Trump on Friday to congratulate him on the 250th anniversary of US Independence Day. During the call, Netanyahu thanked Trump for his support of Israel, and they agreed to meet soon in the United States. An Israeli source noted that no final date has been set for the visit yet. While a meeting as early as next week is under consideration, it might be postponed due to Trump's planned trip to Turkey.

Trump also commented on negotiations with Iran, saying the Iranians are "begging for a deal." He mentioned a roughly one-week pause in talks, partly due to the funeral of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Trump stated, "One shot and we could eliminate them all, but we're not going to do that because then there would be no one left to negotiate with." He expressed surprise at the large turnout at Khamenei's funeral, adding, "I thought people hated him. Maybe those were fake tears."
