Man Lured and Robbed of 100,000 Shekels in Tel Aviv Crypto Scam

A young man attempting to purchase cryptocurrency in Tel Aviv was violently robbed after falling into a trap set by three suspects impersonating crypto traders. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 8:00 PM on Horcanus Street in the city's north. The victim arranged a meeting to finalize the digital currency deal but quickly realized it was a setup. According to his statement, two assailants forced him into a car, sprayed him with pepper spray, punched him, and stole a bag containing 100,000 shekels.

The suspects fled the scene, but a witness recorded their vehicle's license plate. Police from the Yarkon district launched an investigation and arrested the car owner over the weekend, suspecting him of aiding the robbers. Efforts continue to locate the other two suspects. The detained man denies involvement, claiming he merely gave rides to people from Jerusalem and was also a robbery victim. His lawyer stated he cooperated with authorities and that no evidence links him to the crime.
