Jimmy Clark's NBA Summer League Status Uncertain Amid Exit Clause Deadline
The NBA Summer League is set to begin in Las Vegas on July 9, with most teams having announced their rosters. However, Jimmy Clark, a notable Israeli basketball player, has not been included in any official Summer League squad yet. Currently, 24 out of 30 NBA teams have released their Summer League rosters.
Clark holds an exit clause allowing him to join the NBA only until July 30, but participation in the Summer League does not guarantee a final NBA contract. Typically, players who impress during the Summer League are offered "Exhibit 10" contracts for training camp starting in September. Clark, who went undrafted in 2024, could sign a minimum salary contract worth $1.27 million gross, which is less than what he is expected to earn with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Drew Jones, Clark's college coach at Duquesne, praised his professionalism and work ethic, emphasizing Clark's long-standing goal to play in the NBA. Teams that have yet to announce their Summer League rosters include Boston, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Washington.
Several other Israeli players will participate in the Summer League, including Ben Sharf and Danny Wolf with Brooklyn, LaGii Jones with Golden State, Emmanuel Sharp with Sacramento, and Darrin Green Jr. with Dallas, who has a Summer League contract.
