Jewish Man Severely Injured in Brutal Lynching Attack in Silwan Neighborhood
On Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m., three Jewish individuals were ambushed in Jerusalem's Silwan neighborhood by dozens of Arab assailants. The attackers threw stones from rooftops and assaulted the victims with clubs and wooden planks. One Jewish victim sustained a severe head injury, including a skull fracture, and was hospitalized at Shaare Zedek Medical Center for several days.
Police arrived only after the attackers had fled and detained one Arab suspect for questioning. Authorities described the incident as a "brawl" rather than a nationalist attack, contrasting with the victims' account of a premeditated lynching.
The Jewish victims condemned the security situation in Silwan, calling for urgent intervention by Israeli security forces. They urged the police to conduct a thorough crackdown, confiscate illegal weapons, expel hostile families, demolish illegal homes, and resettle Jewish residents in the area. They warned that the internal Arab threat is more dangerous than Iran, emphasizing the need for decisive action to protect the state.
The incident has heightened tensions in the neighborhood, with the victims demanding immediate and comprehensive security measures to prevent further violence.
