Israeli Woman's Severe Mosquito Allergy Causes Life-Threatening Lip Swelling

Chen Migirov, an Israeli woman, shocked social media after posting a video showing her dramatically swollen lower lip. Many viewers initially assumed the swelling was due to a cosmetic procedure gone wrong, such as a botched Botox injection or a filter effect. However, Migirov revealed in an interview with 'HaOlam HaBoker' that the swelling was actually caused by a severe allergic reaction to a mosquito bite. She did not feel the bite at all during the night but woke up to find her lip so swollen that it interfered with basic activities like drinking water, as she could not close her lips properly.

Beyond the discomfort and unusual appearance, the swelling posed a serious health risk. Migirov's doctor warned that such an allergic reaction could be life-threatening, especially if swelling occurred in more critical areas like the neck, which could block the airway and cause breathing difficulties. Migirov emphasized the danger, stating that the reaction could have prevented her from breathing if it had been more internal or located near the throat. This incident highlights the potential severity of mosquito allergies and the importance of medical attention in such cases.
