Israel Confronts New Security Era Amid Regional and Global Shifts

Israel is facing a new security, political, and economic reality shaped by its ongoing conflict with Iran and its proxies, changes in the Middle East, international pressures, and internal challenges. In response, the Yedioth Ahronoth Group, in collaboration with the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), will hold the "National Security Conference" on July 27 at the Yedioth Ahronoth headquarters in Rishon Lezion. The event will unveil the findings of the INSS's comprehensive "Threat Index," which combines a nationwide public opinion survey with in-depth analysis from over 100 experts in security, policy, economics, and society. This research maps public perceptions and expert assessments of Israel's main threats, including Iran, the Palestinian arena, Israel's international standing, national resilience, and economic challenges.

The conference will also present a special "Balance Test" comparing Israel's situation before and after October 7 across security, political, economic, and social domains, aiming to determine whether Israel has entered a new security era. Key topics include the Iranian nuclear issue and its regional implications, the ongoing multifront conflict with reduced military manpower, the northern front with Lebanon and Hezbollah, the potential shift in US-Israel relations post-Trump, and Israel's international isolation.

Senior political leaders, including party heads, ministers, Knesset members from both coalition and opposition, top defense officials, former commanders, INSS researchers, and experts will participate. They will discuss emerging threats, opportunities arising from the war, and Israel's strategic roadmap for the coming years.
