Thousands Attend Memorial for Wife of Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei
A memorial ceremony was held in Tehran yesterday for Zahra Haddad Adel, the wife of Iran's current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and daughter-in-law of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The event was attended by her father, Gholamali Haddad Adel, a former Iranian parliament speaker, along with family members, colleagues, and friends, according to Iranian state media reports.
Mojtaba Khamenei was not seen in the official photos released by state media, following an attack on February 28 attributed to Israel. Zahra Haddad Adel was killed in Tehran on February 28 alongside her father-in-law Ali Khamenei during Israeli and American airstrikes targeting Iran. The memorial honored her memory amid ongoing tensions in the region.
The ceremony underscores the significance of the Khamenei family within Iran's political and religious leadership, as well as the continuing impact of recent military actions against Iranian figures.
