Noah Walden, a teenager from Minnesota, underwent emergency surgery after unknowingly swallowing a metal bristle from a grill cleaning brush that was embedded in a hamburger he ate during a family Memorial Day meal in Stillwater. About a week after the meal, the bristle punctured his digestive tract, forcing doctors to remove a portion of his intestine through a 15-centimeter surgical incision. Noah described the pain as severe, prompting him to seek emergency care. His mother, Amy Walden, urged the public to stop using metal-bristle grill brushes, calling them "a recipe for disaster." Noah advised others to chew their food carefully, especially if using grills cleaned with such brushes. This incident comes amid two major recalls in the U.S. this year involving over 13 million metal-bristle grill brushes, including a recall of approximately 10.2 million brushes by Nexgrill, following reports of bristles detaching and causing internal injuries.
