Father of Fallen Observer Claims IDF Blocks Memorial Post Installation on 1,000th Day

Eyal Eshel, father of the late observer Roni Eshel, told ynet that the observation post meant to be installed at the Hostages' Square on the 1,000th day since the tragedy will not be set up. He said the IDF informed them the post would not arrive because the military considers it a form of protest, despite his signing a form stating the post was intended to honor the memory of the fallen observers. Eshel described the decision as a further disappointment from the IDF and appealed to the public to help bring the post to Hostages' Square. When asked about entering politics, Eshel responded that he is in discussions with various parties and individuals but will decide in due course.
