Israeli UN Ambassador Denounces Terrorist Immunity on 1000th Day Since October 7 Attack

On the 1000th day since the deadly terror attack on October 7, 2023, Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon delivered a forceful speech at the UN General Assembly during a session on the global strategy to combat terrorism. Danon accused the United Nations and its agencies of turning a blind eye to the infiltration of terrorist groups, particularly Hamas, into official UN aid organizations operating in the Gaza Strip, especially UNRWA, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees.

Danon highlighted findings from the war that revealed UNRWA employees actively participated in the massacre and kidnappings, describing these as the result of long-standing Israeli warnings that were ignored. He reminded the assembly that Israel repeatedly warned about Hamas's deep and systematic penetration of UNRWA staff. The evidence became so clear that UNRWA itself was forced to acknowledge the issue and dismiss dozens of employees in Gaza suspected of direct ties to terrorist organizations.

Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Danon declared that a thousand days after the October 7 massacre, the world must listen to the victims of terror and to Israel, which fights terrorism continuously. He asserted that no terrorist deserves UN immunity, a UN salary, or a humanitarian cover story. Danon called for a united front against global terrorism, rejecting any form of immunity or excuse that would shield terrorists within international institutions.
