Magma Launches Unique African Jeep Safari Across Uganda and Tanzania
Magma, an experienced tour operator, has introduced a distinctive African Drive safari that crosses two remarkable countries: Uganda and Tanzania. Africa, the world's second-largest continent with over a billion inhabitants and 54 countries, offers diverse landscapes and cultures. This expedition begins in Uganda, where travelers witness the vast Lake Victoria, shared by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, and explore the wetlands in search of the rare shoebill stork, a critically endangered bird species.
The journey proceeds through Kampala, Uganda's bustling capital, before entering Murchison Falls National Park. Here, the Nile River narrows dramatically before plunging over the powerful Murchison Falls, surrounded by abundant wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, and antelopes. The safari includes night drives to observe nocturnal animals and comfortable lodge stays with views of the Nile.
Travelers then venture deeper into Uganda's heartland, visiting remote villages and the Kibale Forest Reserve, one of the few places where wild chimpanzees can still be observed. The chimpanzees, sharing 95% of human DNA, are habituated to human presence, allowing close encounters.
Next, the safari moves to Tanzania via Kilimanjaro International Airport. Participants explore the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, home to approximately 25,000 large animals including lions, elephants, zebras, and hyenas. The highlight is witnessing the Great Migration across the Serengeti plains, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles travel over 800 kilometers in search of fresh grazing. The safari emphasizes timing to coincide with migration patterns for optimal wildlife viewing.
