Toddler Dies After Being Forgotten in Car Outside Florida Daycare
A 23-month-old toddler was found dead inside an SUV outside a daycare center in Plantation, Florida, after his father forgot to drop him off in the morning. Emergency responders confirmed the child's death upon arrival. The daycare owner, who has known the family for about six years and described them as loving, said the father only realized the child was still in the back seat when he came to pick him up in the afternoon. She immediately called emergency services along with the father. The daycare expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and pledged support for the family and the community. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to the organization Kids and Car Safety, approximately 40 children die each year in the United States from being left in vehicles, with about half of these cases involving unintentional forgetfulness by a parent or caregiver.
