15-Year-Old Raises 'Melania' the Cow at Washington American Fair Celebrating US 250th Anniversary

Piper Stolifer, a 15-year-old student from West Virginia, named a cow "Melania" after First Lady Melania Trump as part of her high school's agricultural program. The naming was chosen to honor the United States' 250th anniversary, with Stolifer explaining that they sought patriotic names and that the cow's hair color resembled that of Melania Trump, making the name fitting.

The cow was showcased at the Great American Fair held last week at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., alongside goats, sheep, and other cattle in the Department of Agriculture's exhibit. The fair attracted visitors including Maryland resident Manny Rocketly, who celebrated his birthday on the fair's opening day and described the event as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" with perfect timing.

However, the event also caused disruptions for locals such as Washington resident Timor Loyanov, who had to alter his running route due to construction and street closures around the National Mall. He noted that the area no longer felt the same, with increased tourism and a stronger presence of MAGA (Make America Great Again) atmosphere.
