Florida Woman Killed by Alligator During River Swim on Couple’s Trip
Brittany Clark, a 31-year-old woman from Florida, was fatally attacked by an alligator while swimming in a river during a weekend trip with her boyfriend. The incident occurred at the Aconalocochi River in the Little Big Econ Preserve, where the couple had stopped to swim. Clark was in water about 90 centimeters deep when a roughly 3.7-meter-long alligator lunged at her and bit her.
Authorities reported that the alligator grabbed one of Clark’s arms and tore it completely. Her boyfriend, Chance Allison, fought the animal and managed to free one arm, but the alligator then seized her other arm. Allison called emergency services and tried to stop the severe bleeding while they were on the riverbank. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Clark died from her injuries en route.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission located and euthanized the alligator, preserving its head as evidence for the investigation. Witnesses described Clark’s condition as extremely severe, with one arm completely torn off and the other barely attached. Clark was known for her love of nature and adventure, often sharing photos of her outdoor activities and pets on social media. She worked as a bulldozer operator and enjoyed attending rave parties. She also had an interest in firearms, frequently posting images of guns and rifles online.
