Lento Restaurant Brings Relaxed Italian Dining to Shfayim Food Complex
Lento, a new Italian restaurant, has opened in the Shfayim food complex, offering a relaxed dining experience for families and visitors. The restaurant, whose name means "slow" in Italian, aims to provide a break from the hectic pace of life with a focus on quality time and fresh, flavorful food. It is the creation of acclaimed chef Moti Sofer, formerly of La Repubblica and RoniMoti, and entrepreneur Gilad Yarkoni, known for The Backyard.
Lento combines an Italian restaurant and wine bar with a Mediterranean twist, featuring shareable small and medium dishes. The menu changes daily, relying on fresh ingredients sourced from Sofer's private farm in Kfar Hayarok. Sample dishes include pickled sardines with a poached egg, shrimp cooked in a Josper grill, veal tartare, spinach and chard gnudi in Parmesan butter, and handmade pappardelle with hunter’s ragout, alongside slow-risen focaccias and fresh pasta.
The restaurant also offers a rich wine list and classic desserts such as tiramisu and panna cotta. Its green, soothing interior design creates a pleasant atmosphere that contrasts with the hot and tiring outside environment. Lento is located at the Chutzot Shfayim complex in Shfayim and can be contacted at 09-959-5955.
In addition to Lento, the article highlights two other culinary treats: Bonjour Patisserie’s new premium KitKat-filled butter pastries, including croissants and brioche, blending the nostalgic chocolate wafer with rich dough; and Sweetweet’s customizable birthday box, a cake-shaped package filled with over 20 sweets and surprises, available in kosher and non-kosher versions for 235 shekels. These offerings cater to a wide range of tastes and occasions, enhancing the summer leisure experience.
