Mendy Wiesel Releases Spiritual Single Inspired by Rabbi Chaim Ben Attar's Teachings

Mendy Wiesel, a renowned emotional music artist, has released a new deeply moving single titled "Above Them," commemorating the yahrzeit of Rabbi Chaim Ben Attar, known as the "Or HaChaim." The song draws from the rabbi's profound teachings on the unique value of human song and prayer. According to the Or HaChaim, while God delights in the celestial songs of angels and the pure melodies of the righteous in heaven, He cherishes even more the songs and gratitude expressed by humans on earth, who sing despite their struggles and hidden challenges, offering sincere faith and devotion.

The musical composition was originally created by Rabbi Moshe Grinwald and performed within his study hall. Wiesel revitalized the melody with a powerful and emotional arrangement, infusing it with his distinctive vocal warmth. A highlight of the piece is the inclusion of a rare philosophical excerpt from the Or HaChaim, recited by the influential spiritual mentor Rabbi Pinchas David Bunker, whose inspiring voice adds a profound layer of sanctity and connects listeners directly to the spirit of the rabbi being honored.

This unique project was produced in collaboration with the Torah Life Association, which promotes the study and dissemination of the Or HaChaim’s teachings across diverse audiences.
