Apartment Fire Breaks Out, Haredi Volunteers Rushed to the Scene
Fire and Rescue Services emphasized that the volunteers “continue to prove their ability to be a real assisting force in saving human lives,” and that their contribution helps shorten response times. Fire and rescue crews from the Haifa station were dispatched overnight after a report of a fire in a residential building on Makor Baruch Street in the Ramat Vizhnitz neighborhood. Upon arrival, firefighters identified a blaze that had developed inside drywall in the exterior section of an apartment on the fifth and top floor of the building. Teams worked to locate the source of the fire, extinguish the blaze and remove sections of drywall, and carried out searches to rule out anyone trapped, using specialized equipment to deal with fires that develop within enclosed spaces.
Fire and Rescue Services praised members of the Haredi volunteer unit from the Haifa station, residents of the Vizhnitz neighborhood, who arrived first at the scene and helped guide residents, direct the forces and pass on vital information to the firefighters. They also stressed that the volunteers “continue to prove time and again their ability to be a real assisting force in saving human lives,” and that their contribution helps shorten response times and improve operational efficiency. The incident ended without casualties. The investigation into the circumstances of the fire is continuing.
