US Ambassador Mike Herzog Affirms Unbreakable US-Israel Relations at 250th US Independence Celebration in Israel

At a special event hosted by the Israeli-American Community (IAC) in Israel to mark the 250th anniversary of US independence, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Herzog emphasized the enduring and unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel. The event, hosted by American-Israeli businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison, included notable attendees such as philanthropist Dr. Miriam Adelson, businessman and Gaza Peace Council member Yakir Gabay, and IAC CEO Ilan Carr.

Ambassador Herzog highlighted that the historic relationship between the two countries is rooted in shared Judeo-Christian values, noting that the US Founding Fathers were influenced by the Jewish people and the Ten Commandments when drafting the American Declaration of Independence. He stressed that forgetting this heritage would undermine America’s greatness. Addressing doubts about the future of US-Israel ties, Herzog stated, "There is no chance" the partnership will dissolve, comparing it to a unique marriage neither side could afford to end.

Ilan Carr, former US State Department Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism and current IAC CEO, remarked that the US-Israel relationship is forged not only from mutual interests and threats but also from a deep spiritual DNA linking the two nations. Shari Arison expressed pride in hosting the IAC to strengthen US-Israel ties and emphasized the Jewish role in bringing light to the world through peace and unity.

Prior to the celebration, a strategic meeting of Israeli and American philanthropists took place in collaboration with the Roderman Family Foundation, focusing on enhancing connections between Israel and the US Jewish community.
