After two years of complex discussions, legal battles with the global players' union FIFPro, and dramatic rulings, Spain's AS reported that FIFA has announced a total overhaul of the international transfer regulations.
The current rules, which were introduced back in 2001, are about to be transformed from top to bottom. These dramatic changes were now approved at an official meeting in Mexico City, but it is important to stress that they will officially take effect on January 1, 2027.
