Former Communications Director Joins Bennett’s Party, Affirms Right-Wing Stance and Rejects Palestinian State
Liran Abisher Ben-Horin, former director general of the Israeli Ministry of Communications, recently joined the emerging political list of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. Her addition has sparked significant interest regarding the new party's political direction. In a radio interview on Galei Yisrael with journalist Sharon Gal on Tuesday, Abisher Ben-Horin expressed clear right-wing views while defending Bennett’s political positions.
She explicitly stated her opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state, emphasizing her support for the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria, which she described as necessary, both for security and Zionist reasons. She praised Bennett for consistently supporting and strengthening the settlements, including during his tenure in the government known as the "change government."
During the interview, Sharon Gal confronted her with recent remarks by Bennett, suggesting he was advocating for Palestinian autonomy. Abisher Ben-Horin firmly rejected this characterization, stating she had never heard Bennett speak about Palestinian autonomy. Instead, she clarified that Bennett advocates for granting civil rights to the Palestinian population, which she described as legitimate and appropriate.
This interview sheds light on the ideological stance of Bennett’s new political faction, highlighting a right-wing approach that supports settlements and rejects a Palestinian state, while promoting civil rights for Palestinians within Israel’s framework.
