Two Iranian Revolutionary Guards Officers Killed in West Iran Attack
Two officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) were shot dead on Tuesday in Kermanshah province, western Iran, according to official state media. Initial reports indicate that an armed group opened fire on regime security forces, resulting in the deaths of two IRGC members at the scene. Additionally, two other security personnel were wounded and evacuated for medical treatment.
The Iranian regime quickly labeled the incident a "well-planned terrorist attack," highlighting the region's frequent tensions involving Kurdish minorities and armed opposition groups. No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the shooting.
Following the attack, large forces from the Revolutionary Guards and local police launched extensive searches and imposed a security cordon around multiple sites in Kermanshah to locate the perpetrators who fled the scene. In a related development, the Revolutionary Guards also intercepted three foreign tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian reports.
