President Herzog Praises Netanyahu and Trump in Historic Romanian Parliament Speech

Israeli President Isaac Herzog delivered a historic speech before the Romanian Parliament in Bucharest during his official state visit. Upon arrival, Herzog met with key Romanian officials including Senate President Mircea Abrudan and Speaker of the House Sorin-Mihai Grindeanu to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and pressing regional issues.

In his address, Herzog extensively highlighted the growing Iranian threat and praised the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He stated, "The Americans and Israelis have gone to war against Iran to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons and to stop this empire of evil and its proxies from threatening peace-loving countries in the Middle East. I commend President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu for their leadership in this struggle."

Herzog also emphasized the significance of the recent memorandum of understanding signed in Washington between Israel and Lebanon. He described it as "a major breakthrough for peace," which could serve as a foundation for a true peace agreement by mandating the removal of Hezbollah.

The president praised Romania's steadfast support for Israel since the outbreak of the October 7 Hamas attack, calling Romania "a beacon of humanity and hope during our darkest hour." He acknowledged Romania's immediate and unequivocal condemnation of the Hamas massacre and its exceptional solidarity in efforts to free Israeli hostages held in Gaza tunnels.

Concluding his speech, Herzog thanked the U.S. administration for leading diplomatic efforts and urged the international community, including the European Union, to support Lebanon's stability and economy alongside Israel's security.
