Hasidic Leader Shimon Goldberg Marries Son in Grand Bet Shemesh Celebration
A large wedding celebration took place on Sunday evening at Kinor David Hall in Bet Shemesh for the son of Rabbi Shimon Goldberg, the acting mayor and chairman of the Hasidic faction in the city. The event drew hundreds of attendees, including Hasidic rebbes, rabbis, members of the Knesset, public figures, community leaders, entrepreneurs, contractors, and members of the Bet Shemesh municipal leadership.
Shimon Goldberg is a prominent figure in the local ultra-Orthodox political scene, highly respected for his longstanding efforts supporting holy communities, Torah institutions, and the Haredi public in Bet Shemesh. The wedding featured an impressive tribute display at the entrance, organized by about 100 holy communities, synagogues, and educational institutions from the city's Hasidic sector. This included a lavish beverage bar and grand decorations.
Goldberg serves as chairman of the Hasidic faction in the Bet Shemesh city council and as acting mayor under Shmuel Greenberg, playing a key role in the city’s coalition. The joyous event was extensively documented with photos capturing the large turnout and festive atmosphere.
The wedding underscores Goldberg's influential status in Bet Shemesh's religious and political spheres and highlights the strong community support he commands among the city's ultra-Orthodox population.
