Bobov 45 Rebbe Visits Union City for Grand Engagement Celebration and Community Events
The Bobov 45 Hasidic community in Union City experienced great joy this week as their Rebbe arrived for a special visit to celebrate the engagement of his granddaughter. The bride is the daughter of Rabbi Chaim Baruch Halberstam, the Rebbe's son-in-law and leader of the Union City community, and son of Rabbi Avraham, head of Beit Avraham. The groom is the son of Rabbi Hertzka Berger, grandson of Rabbi Eliezer Lipa Berger, Av Beit Din of Mishkaletz in Monsey, and son-in-law of Rabbi Meir Zalman Steeg, head of the Toldos Aharon Kollel in Monsey.
The engagement festivities drew large crowds from the city, including rabbis, judges, and community leaders from various holy courts who came to offer congratulations and blessings. Alongside the joyous occasion, the Rebbe conducted a series of special events for the community's children. He honored the "Chumash Seudah," a celebratory meal for first-grade students at the local Talmud Torah school, and participated in an awards ceremony recognizing seventh and eighth graders who excelled in their studies and completed entire Talmudic tractates.
The Rebbe warmly blessed the students, encouraging them to grow into Torah scholars and God-fearing individuals. This visit strengthened community bonds and highlighted the importance of education and tradition within the Bobov 45 Hasidic community in Union City.
