Bereaved Brother Lavi Nitzan Marries in Emotional Ceremony with Finance Minister Smotrich Dancing
Lavi Nitzan, brother of the late Gilad Nitzan, a fallen fighter of the Givati Reconnaissance Battalion, married his beloved Shani on Sunday evening. The wedding ceremony was conducted by Rabbi Yehoshua Shapira, head of the Ramat Gan Yeshiva. During the event, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich danced before the bride and groom, adding to the celebration.
The ceremony was deeply moving, as their father, Yaakov Nitzan, incorporated soil from the site where Gilad was killed during Operation "Iron Swords" with soil from the Temple Mount. He placed this mixture on Lavi's forehead, symbolizing the connection between personal grief and national memory. Yaakov explained that this gesture was meant to link the memory of his fallen son Gilad with the joyous occasion of Lavi's wedding.
Family members and guests accompanied the couple throughout the day, sharing in both the sorrow and happiness of the moment. The blending of grief and celebration highlighted the enduring impact of Gilad's sacrifice on his family and community.
