Finnish Author and Poet Aeva Kilpi Dies at 98 After Eight-Decade Literary Career
Finnish author and poet Aeva Kilpi passed away at the age of 98. Her writing career spanned over eighty years, during which she explored themes such as identity, human responsibility toward nature, and the status of women. Kilpi's first published work was a collection of short stories released in 1959, marking the start of her full-time career as a writer. Her final work, a poetry collection titled Elämää kaikki päivät ("Life Every Day"), was published in 2022. Throughout her extensive career, Kilpi published more than 30 works. In 2000, a comprehensive anthology of her poetry, including her latest poems, was released in Finland under the title "The Butterfly Crosses the Road." Writing remained her primary occupation until her death.
