Trump Unveils Mockup of New U.S. 250th Anniversary Passport With His Image
President Donald Trump on Friday revealed a mockup of a new U.S. passport planned for America’s 250th anniversary, and the design prominently features his own image. The limited-edition passport shows Trump seated at his desk, with text from the original Declaration of Independence behind him and his signature at the bottom of the page.
The second page of the passport mockup includes John Trumbull’s painting “Declaration of Independence,” which depicts the Founding Fathers signing the document. The passport also carries the words “United States of America 250,” linking it to the nationwide celebrations for the country’s semiquincentennial.
In a post on his social network Truth Social, Trump wrote, “The new U.S. passport, which says ‘Welcome, but be good!’” The White House’s official X account also posted the image on Friday night, calling it a “new American passport marking 250 years of America.”
The State Department first announced in April that it intended to issue the new passport for the 250th anniversary, but the earlier version showed different artwork and did not include Trump’s photograph.
