Hartstein to Stay in Oklahoma City on a $75 Million Deal
Isaiah Hartstein will remain with the Oklahoma City Thunder after agreeing to a new three-year contract worth $75 million, with a special option that would let the team reopen the deal in 2028. The report says the agreement comes as the Thunder, the defending 2024/25 champions, tried to create salary-cap space through recent trades of Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins, raising questions about Hartstein’s future because of the luxury tax.
Hartstein will continue as the starting center alongside Chet Holmgren as Oklahoma City tries to defend its title. The 2026 report says he is one of the team’s most important players.
Hartstein is also described as one of the best defenders against Victor Wembanyama. Last season he played only 47 games, averaging 9.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, including 3.2 offensive boards, 3.5 assists, one steal and 0.8 blocks in 24.2 minutes per game. The previous season, he posted 11.2 points and 10.7 rebounds on the way to the Thunder’s championship.
