Four Arrested After Violent Clash in Arad Over Gerrer Hasidim Protest Convoy
Police in Arad arrested four city residents on Thursday in connection with a violent fight that broke out on Wednesday afternoon in a neighborhood of the city. The suspects were taken to the local police station for questioning, according to police spokespersons.
Police said officers were dispatched after a report of a brawl in Arad, moved quickly to restore order, and immediately opened an investigation to determine what happened and identify everyone involved. The force said it is also collecting testimony and other evidence.
The violence comes amid rising tensions in Arad in recent days, with clashes between different groups in the city. According to the report, the confrontation began when local secular residents tried to block vehicles carrying Gerrer Hasidim who were planning to join a convoy heading to Prison 10.
Police said the four detainees are being investigated for alleged involvement in the assault, and officers will continue searching for additional suspects if necessary, with the aim of bringing all participants to justice.
