Panathinaikos Eye Huge Buyout Deal for Valencia Guard Brancou Badio
Panathinaikos is reportedly preparing a major move for Valencia guard Brancou Badio, who was one of the players that helped eliminate the Greek club from the playoffs this season. According to a Spanish report cited by encestando, the 27-year-old guard is expected to join Panathinaikos after a disappointing 2025/2026 campaign for the Athens side.
Although Badio extended his contract with Valencia during the season, the report says Panathinaikos is ready to pay a massive 1.5 million euro buyout to bring him in. The club has been tracking him for several weeks, and the transfer only advanced after new Panathinaikos coach Zeljko Obradovic gave his approval.
The report also says Badio has already agreed to personal terms with the Athens club and is set to sign a three-year deal worth 5 million euros net. Badio was one of the surprises of the EuroLeague season, as Valencia impressed in the competition and he averaged 11.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in his first full season.
Separately, Johannes Voigtmann is returning to the EuroLeague after two years in Japan and has signed with Bayern Munich. The German big man spent successful years with Alba Berlin from 2018 to 2024 and will now move to their biggest domestic rival.
