Channel 14 Reporter to Represent Warsaw Maccabi at the 2026 Maccabiah
Nati Langerman, Channel 14’s Europe correspondent, will trade his microphone for a tennis racket and represent Maccabi Warsaw at the 2026 Maccabiah Games in Israel. The 26-year-old journalist said he is competing in tennis in the OPEN category and will be the club’s only representative at the event.
The games are scheduled to take place in Israel from July 1 to 14, 2026. Organizers expect about 5,000 Jewish athletes and athletes, with roughly half from Israel and half from other countries. The Maccabiah was postponed from last year because of security tensions in the Middle East, which also forced many delegations, including Poland’s, to reduce their teams.
Maccabi Warsaw has taken part in the Maccabiah since the inaugural 1932 games, winning many medals over the years in various sports. After a decades-long pause, the club has resumed activity in recent years alongside the growth of Jewish life in Poland.
In an interview with C14, Langerman said, "I am very excited. My heart remains in Israel. The essence of the Maccabiah is the connection between the only Jewish state in the world and the Jewish diaspora, a connection that cannot be broken." He also said, "JAZDA POLSKA!" and noted that his participation feels like a personal full circle because one branch of his family came from Poland. Maccabi Warsaw official Maciej Moritz wished him success and said the club was sure he would represent it honorably.
