Yossi Elituv Says Torah Study Is the World’s Channel of Blessing
In a new segment on Kikar HaShabbat, Yossi Elituv, editor of the weekly Mishpacha, argues that the biblical story of Balaam reveals a deeper spiritual principle about how the world survives. He says Balaam, when trying to curse Israel, inadvertently exposed what he describes as the secret of existence, the flow of abundance to nations comes through Israel, and the blessing to Israel continues through Torah scholars.
Elituv says God sustains a world filled with contradiction, evil, and darkness because it contains Jews who labor over His Torah. On that basis, he frames attacks on Torah learners as more than a dispute with one sector or community. In his view, such efforts damage the spiritual conduit through which blessing reaches the entire world.
The segment presents this as a Jewish theological reflection rather than a political argument, and viewers are directed to watch the full 14:36 discussion.
