Zvika Hadar Says He Would Quit if New Channel Turns Into a Political Propaganda Outlet

Veteran actor and host Zvika Hadar has responded to the backlash over his planned role at the new news channel on Channel 16, where he is set to hold a senior post overseeing entertainment and original productions together with Maor Zaguri. The appointment has already stirred debate in the television industry before the channel has even gone on air.

In an interview with Walla, Hadar pushed back against criticism, including an article in Haaretz that suggested the station could become “another government propaganda pipeline.” When asked directly whether he would remain if the channel resembled Channel 14, he answered bluntly, “In such a case, I would not be there.”

He went further, saying, “I also will not broadcast on Channel 14. We are not on the same agenda, so it is simply not relevant.” His remarks were meant to draw a clear line around the type of broadcaster he is willing to work for.

The comments come as Hadar and Zaguri are formally named to lead entertainment and original content at the new Channel 16 news venture, a move that continues to generate significant attention and controversy ahead of launch.
