Hasidic Singer Moti Weisel Celebrates His Son’s Bar Mitzvah Two Days After Fire Injury

Hasidic singer Moti Weisel was burned in the face during a bonfire-style musical event on Tuesday, but he was back on stage only two days later to celebrate his son Ari’s bar mitzvah on Thursday evening. The episode was described by those around him as a near-miraculous recovery after he suffered significant facial burns when flames suddenly flared during the performance.

Weisel later recounted what happened, saying, "I was performing at a kumzitz, suddenly I got hit by a burst of fire, my face was burning, I saw black in front of my eyes." He added, "I never dreamed I would be able to hold the event on time, thank God for the miracle."

After the injury, he received initial medical treatment. People close to him said, "He was saved by a miracle, his condition is good and he is recovering at home." Despite the pain and the burns, Weisel chose to go ahead with the family celebration as planned.

Family members and friends from the Hasidic music scene attended the bar mitzvah and joined in the festivities, which were marked by relief and gratitude over Weisel’s quick recovery.
