Iran Denies Reaching Out to Trump, Warns of Strong Response to Any U.S. Aggression

Iranian state media quoted a senior official denying that Iranian officials had contacted U.S. President Donald Trump, contrary to his remarks that he had spoken directly with figures in Tehran. According to the official, Trump's “false claim” of contact with senior Iranian officials was intended to serve as “cover to avoid a war against Iran.”

At the same time, Iran's military warned that the armed forces would deliver a “crushing and decisive response to any American aggression in the region.”
