Hector Bellerin renews his anti-Israel criticism on Spanish TV

Real Betis midfielder Hector Bellerin, long known for his anti-Israel views, again attacked Israel in an appearance on Marc Giró’s Cara Show, aired on Sport 5 on June 25, 2026 at 18:05. During the interview, Giró moved through a series of topics before holding up a card with the Palestinian symbol, prompting Bellerin to launch into a statement about his position on Palestine.

Bellerin said he had “taken a position on Palestine” and said football had already shown in the war in Ukraine how it can be used to promote a cause, citing flags on scoreboards and other gestures. He added that in Spain, amid “the conflict regarding Palestine and the genocide in Palestine,” Athletic Bilbao had acted, and that it had become impossible not to take a stand.

Bellerin concluded, “We all know what Lamine Yamal did.” After that, Giró shouted “Free Palestine,” drawing applause from the audience and from Bellerin himself.
