Nearly a decade ago, Israeli rapper E-Z, whose real name is Erez Sharon, shared a video of a young singer covering his song “You Have Everything” and wrote on Instagram, “Remember the name: Odes Azoulay.” That clip, recorded in 2017, has resurfaced online and is being revisited as evidence that his prediction came true.
Azoulay, who is scheduled to perform Thursday night at Ramat Gan Stadium, first broke into the public spotlight in 2020 with the hit “Or.” Since then, she has become one of the most prominent names in Israeli music.
Her style blends pop and Middle Eastern sounds with personal lyrics about faith, love, disappointment, and coping. Although she began her musical path in 2017, “Or” was the real breakthrough, topping charts and gathering millions of views.
In October 2023, shortly after the October 7 massacre, Azoulay and E-Z released “Winter 23,” a song about the national trauma, fear, confusion, and the many questions raised by the events. The track was widely successful, with millions of YouTube views, high chart placements, and many listeners saying it helped them get through the period.
