An unusual incident occurred on Wednesday during a car protest on major traffic routes across Israel. Near the Yavne Interchange on Highway 4, two vehicles collided, and one driver fled the scene immediately after the impact.
According to witness accounts and dashcam footage, a white Honda Civic dangerously overtook one of the protest vehicles, cut in front of it, and stopped abruptly, causing the crash. The striking driver then accelerated away and escaped from the area.
The driver whose car was hit told BeChadrei Haredim that the collision appeared deliberate. “During the drive from Ashdod toward the Misubim Interchange, about a kilometer before Yavne Interchange, the car hit me on purpose and rammed the vehicle,” he said. “I tried to catch him, but he fled the scene quickly.”
Video from the car camera clearly shows the moment of impact and the other vehicle’s escape. The article does not say whether police have identified the fleeing driver or taken further action.
