Video from Wednesday's car protest on Highway 1, held amid the conscription crisis, shows several violent confrontations between drivers, police, and protesters. In one incident, a private car driver was filmed pulling out a handgun and aiming it at protesters standing on the road.
The protest's organizing committee responded sharply, calling the incident a real threat and urging Israel Police to act immediately and decisively against instigators and violent behavior. The committee said, "Enough with the violence."
Another clip shows a police officer pointing a rifle at one of the protesters in an apparent attempt to move him away from the scene. A separate incident involved Haredi journalist Yaki Adamker, who was caught in a direct clash with a truck driver.
According to footage shared on social media, the truck driver hit Adamker's vehicle. Adamker wrote on X that the driver issued serious threats, pulled a metal bar toward him and other passengers on Highway 1, deliberately rammed his car a minute earlier, refused to exchange details, spat, and threw water at the passengers. He added that such incidents are happening frequently on the route and said police presence is insufficient.
