Valencia capped a standout 2025/26 season by beating Barcelona 108 to 84 to win the Spanish championship, taking the final series 3-1. It was Valencia’s second league title ever and its first in 28 years. The club had already won the Supercopa earlier in the season, but was eliminated in the EuroLeague semifinals and the Spanish Cup semifinals.
Barcelona had won the opening game of the series in overtime, but Valencia responded by winning three straight to close it out. After a tight first quarter, Valencia pulled away in the second, taking a 12-point lead into halftime. The third quarter decided the game, as Valencia scored 35 points and steadily stretched the margin until the final buzzer.
Jean Montero led Valencia with 23 points in what was his final game for the club before moving to Olympiacos. Cameron Taylor added 21 points and 6 rebounds, while Omari Moore finished with 19 points and 4 rebounds and Braxton Key contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds. The game was played at Palau Blaugrana.
Kevin Punter led Barcelona with 23 points and 4 rebounds, but could not prevent a disappointing finish as runner-up. Barcelona had hoped head coach Xavi Pascual, who returned during the season, could revive the team, but he also failed to do so despite previously winning the club’s last EuroLeague title.
