Israeli singer Hagar Yefet announced on Wednesday that she is pregnant with her second child, less than six months after giving birth to her first daughter, Naomi. She said she discovered she conceived only two months after the earlier delivery.
Yefet said the early news hit her hard at first, but she is now more accepting of it. Asked how she plans to handle becoming a mother of two in less than a year, she replied, "I don't have the tools, it will definitely be hard. When the time comes, I will have the strength and God's help. God willing."
The announcement drew many congratulatory messages online, including wishes of "good luck," "mazal tov," and praise for growing a family. Some followers speculated that the pregnancy was one reason she postponed an upcoming performance. Yefet responded that it was one of the main reasons, though not the only one, adding that she will make every effort to perform even while pregnant.
Yefet first rose to public attention through reality television and quickly became one of Israel's leading stars in the Mizrahi music genre. Her songs, including "Lo Nigmar," "Ata Chai BeChalom," and "Eifo Hayita," have drawn millions of views on YouTube, and her official YouTube and Instagram accounts have tens of thousands of subscribers and followers. In an earlier interview, when asked where she wanted to be in 10 years, she said she hoped to be married, with two children and a home, while being in the peak of her career as an established singer.
