Two violent attacks were reported Tuesday against convoys taking part in protest activity headed toward a military prison, at separate locations in Israel. In both cases, passengers said they faced a real and immediate threat to their lives, and the incidents were forwarded urgently to Israel Police.
Near Ashdod on Route 7, an assailant blocked one vehicle in the convoy, threatened the passengers and tried to physically assault the driver. When the driver attempted to close the window for protection, the attacker struck it hard and shattered the windshield completely, sending glass shards across the car.
A second attack took place on the Ayalon Highway in the Tel Aviv area, as a convoy left Bnei Brak. According to the report, a truck driver blocked the lane, got out armed with a knife and sticks, and rushed one of the convoy cars. He then beat violently on the vehicle’s windows and windshield.
In that case, the passengers stayed calm and followed instructions instead of responding physically, and called police emergency services in real time. Protest organizers said the sequence of events was unprecedented and should not be ignored, and they demanded immediate arrests and firm enforcement action. They said all footage from Ashdod, together with the truck driver’s details from Ayalon, are being handled urgently by police.
