With Israel’s 2026 election cycle beginning to unsettle the political map, former minister Gilad Erdan took a step on Wednesday that may signal his next move. According to journalist Amit Segal, Erdan informed members of the Israel Aerospace Industries board that he is resigning from the company.
In a conversation with them, Erdan said he is in “days of making significant decisions,” and that his attention is now focused on those choices. The resignation comes after months of repeated reports that he is considering a return to politics and possibly the creation of a new party.
Erdan has already confirmed in the past that he is examining that option, fueling expectations that he is preparing a major political move ahead of the election. One reported possibility is a new political framework with figures associated with the liberal right, including Moshe Kahlon and Yuli Edelstein.
The assumed goal of such a project would be to appeal to right-center voters, people who hold right-wing views but do not support the current government.
