Brazil will close its group stage against Scotland overnight between Wednesday and Thursday at 1:00 a.m. in Miami, after opening with a 3-0 win over Haiti. Carlo Ancelotti said he is likely to make one change to the lineup, and a 19-year-old Bournemouth midfielder named Ryan was tested on the right side of attack as the likely replacement for the injured Raphinha. He is being favored over Luiz Henrique of Zenit St. Petersburg.
Brazil will also have Neymar available for the first time in the tournament. The number 10 is expected to make his first minutes, likely late in the match. Ancelotti also said Casemiro and Douglas Santos, both already on one yellow card, will stay in the starting lineup and will not be rested for the knockout stage.
Scotland, coming off a 1-0 loss to Morocco, need at least one point to secure qualification without depending on other results. Aaron Hickey, who missed the previous match because of injury, has returned to training and is expected to be in the squad.
In the same Group 3, Morocco and Brazil each have four points and will battle for first place. Morocco must beat Haiti in Atlanta, and coach Mohamed Ouahbi is expected to keep the same lineup that defeated Scotland, with Achraf Hakimi set for his 99th appearance for the national team. Haiti has lost both of its first two matches and is already eliminated.
