A new ranking by British insurance comparison site Quotezone has named Mogren Beach in Budva, Montenegro, the best beach destination in Europe for summer 2026. The study compared 10 leading coastal spots using factors including sea and air temperatures, accommodation and drink costs, distance from the airport, and the number of five-star reviews, aiming to balance quality, convenience and value for money.
Mogren edged out better-known beaches in Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Italy and elsewhere. Quotezone said the beach, considered one of the most beautiful on the Adriatic Sea, averaged about 25.5 degrees Celsius in July and was among the cheapest places on the list, especially for beer and lodging.
The report also found Mogren to be the least expensive option for a three-night stay and one of the most attractive choices for nightlife and beachgoing. The ranking’s top 10 for summer 2026 also included Irakli Beach in Bulgaria, Zlatni Rat in Croatia, La Pelosa in Italy and Bournemouth Beach in England.
The full list places Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, second, Playa de Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, Spain, third, Irakli Beach in Burgas, Bulgaria, fourth, and Elafonissi in Crete, Greece, fifth. Praia da Falésia in the Algarve, Portugal, came sixth, Zlatni Rat in Brač, Croatia, seventh, La Pelosa in Sardinia, Italy, eighth, Bournemouth Beach ninth, and Plage de Palombaggia in Corsica, France, tenth.
