A new Reuters-Ipsos poll found that only 34% of Americans approve of President Donald Trump, his lowest level in the survey. The poll also showed broad skepticism about the ceasefire with Iran, with 63% of respondents saying they do not believe it will last.
Just 23% said the United States emerged stronger from the conflict, and only 24% said the confrontation with Iran was worth the cost. Among self-identified Republicans, half did not think the agreement between the two countries would lead to peace, while 80% of Democrats said the same.
Reuters noted that Trump began his presidency with 47% approval, but his popularity has fallen over time amid inflation and disputes over his hard-line policy toward undocumented migrants. In the previous Reuters-Ipsos survey, his approval stood at 37%.
The latest poll included 1,262 Americans.
