Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said in an interview at the JBS conference in Jerusalem that "Hezbollah and Iran are the ones violating Lebanon's sovereignty." He argued that Hezbollah is the main obstacle to Lebanon's independence, sovereign future, and also to Israel's security.
Sa'ar said the issue is a shared challenge. He rejected international claims that Israel is violating Lebanon's sovereignty, saying, "That is not the truth." In his view, Hezbollah is the actor violating Lebanon's sovereignty, and Iran is also doing so.
The remarks were made in Jerusalem during the JBS conference, against the backdrop of ongoing debate over Lebanon's sovereignty and Hezbollah's role in the country.
