The Israeli party “The Democrats” has accelerated work on shaping its next Knesset slate and officially opened the filing process for members who want to run in its primary. According to reporter Amiel Yerhi, the forms became available on Tuesday for party members seeking to compete in the internal vote.
Party insiders say the response has been strong. Current internal estimates in the party suggest that more than 40 different candidates are expected to submit their candidacies in the coming days.
Those contenders will compete for the support of party members in hopes of winning realistic slots on the Knesset list. The move marks the start of the party’s internal race to determine its next parliamentary lineup.
