A special prayer gathering was held today in Manchester for the seriously ill Hordonkah Rebbe from England, who is said to be in very grave condition and in need of divine mercy. The event brought together children from all the city’s Torah schools, along with local rabbis, to pray for his full and speedy recovery.
Rabbi Yitzchak Rubin, the rabbi of the "Esh Kodesh" community in Manchester, encouraged the children to ask for mercy through prayer and supplication, using the Torah reading of "Vayakhel et ha-edah" as the basis for the gathering at the Hittin Park synagogue. The children also recited special prayers, with the message that the prayer of the many is not rejected.
Rabbi Yechezkel Teitelbaum, a Satmar judge in Manchester and the rebbe’s grandson, led the recitation of Psalms and stirred the large group of children. The rebbe has been hospitalized for a long time in Zurich, Switzerland, where he underwent leg surgery last month and initially showed improvement.
In recent days, however, his condition worsened after a severe infection. The article describes him as one of the world’s most prominent rebbes and a major supporter of Torah learning and the wider Hasidic community. His brother is Dayan Chida Weiss of Antwerp. The prayer name announced for him was Rabbi Yitzchak Aryeh ben Chana, for a complete recovery among the sick of Israel.
