A six-month-old girl was found in serious condition on Tuesday after apparently drowning in a bathtub at her home in a settlement in the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council area. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics were called to the scene and found her unconscious, without a pulse or breathing.
The team began resuscitation efforts immediately. After her heartbeat returned, they provided initial treatment at the scene and then evacuated her to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition.
MDA senior medic Ariel Yosef Matlon said, "When we arrived at the scene we noticed the baby girl unconscious without a pulse and breathing after, according to those present, she apparently drowned in the bathtub. We carried out life-saving resuscitation measures, including chest compressions and ventilation, and after the pulse returned we continued providing medical treatment and evacuated her in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition."
